Prison

After deep thought and concern, regarding the time spent behind bars, I did initially feel the need to separate advice into two categories, to help families of people incarcerated and people facing the prospect of impending conviction. However, after talking with my family they explained that the most difficult thing for them during my stay inside, was the uncertainty of my quality of life, believing and knowing I would not tell them.

The problem of never having done anything wrong in the first place, causes you to be very angry and bitter, in particular if you have been brought up to believe in a system of justice that is supposed to be the best, but clearly is not! Added to this is the Professionals denial that anything could be wrong with their system, it is far too lucreative for that! If they got paid by results only, then they might try alot harder, I would like them to change places with the person they are working for if they get it wrong!

Therefore, to write a book would mean the individual seeking an informative and concise answer to a simple problem relating to prison, would have to wade though miles of my angst to get it! Not wishing to reduce in any way the need for punishing wrongdoers and I did meet some very baddie people inside, the requirement to enable a quick reference guide for the reader means the provision of a small index, seems the best solution. As follows: -

1) Travelling between court, "the sweat box".

2) Arrivals and departure lounge.

3) Doctors and nurses.

4) Prison officers, "screws"

5) Initial "holding prisons"

6) Prison regime.

7) Visits

8) Association, mixing with other prisoners.

9) Courses, rehabilitation, offending behaviour stuff and health.

10) Food and hygiene

11) Telephone calls

12) Other prisoners, relations and communicating

13) Letters and censors

14) Probation

15) Religion

16) Leaving and returning home
