Future

Well, I could have spent a large part of my life looking at the future with positive glasses on. However, unfortunately I look around at the generation we have today in disgust.

Together with clever and manipulative use of any loopholes in the law, to day's young thugs are more arrogant, abusive and violent, than any way back in the 1970s.

The future of law and order is not going to be in way benefited by yet more CCTV cameras or beat bobbies. The only hope we have of curbing the minority group of young thugs who cause the majority of our lawlessness is to re-educate the population.

The exclusion from school and care that has helped this problem to develop, is not helped by the explosion of young single parent families who feel it is now normal to leave home at sixteen and live off the state. I would suggest that the problem will only get any sign of improvement when proper and compulsory care is reintroduced to young families and truant youngsters.

The cost savings in terms of crime not committed, would surely outweigh the costs involved of helping to re-educate families. Who for whatever reason, seem to think young Jimmy using four letter words aged four is a laugh and the normal Saturday night out has been a disaster if no one from their party goes to the A&E Department.

I lived through the mod and rocker times then onto flower power; it is far more unpleasant for our older generation now. The Social services policy of pretending our children are at risk exclusively, puts blinkers on anything they do wrong, to the point that we will in the future get to the stage of a "crying wolf" syndrome were all children are lying. This could become cyclic. So we go back to very little belief in anything the children say.

It is not inconceivable, that CCTV and total face recognition systems, controlled by computers will cover our world. That anytime in the future you wish to complain you will be monitored and tagged for retribution by the system, automatically. Good job I will be in a box, but what about my family.

Oh, I forgot I should not bother about them now, just as long as I can do what I want and they keep out of the way! The spare the rod attitude as in go home and confirm when you would like to do this detention, stay away you bad boy and other unbelievable so called children's charter stuff has caused a complete generation to totally disrespect any authority or have any view on a caring society.

The young thugs are growing in number, they will breed. Maybe the only way to stop this would be a reversible vasectomy done before nine years old, followed by a full course and exam on parenting. Marriage and a reversal operation would be the only way a couple could have children. At least the thought is a start!

But of course the human rights soapboxes will come out from under the bundles of caftans and opened toed sandals. Never mind the rights of normal people, particularly the old and infirm to get a decent nights sleep, or feel safe going out after dark.

It is the so called children we are now in fear of, the very children the Social Services and NSPCC would have us believe need protecting, who are the most menacing group in our society to-day.

Time will till if the system can halt the drift towards chaos, but a start could be made at schools by preventing bullying from reaching even more dangerous levels. It is well documented that bullying is an essential factor in the manufacture of the thug.

I will continue this section as news of the future comes trickling down through the branches.
